Head coach Alan Sheehan hailed two moments of quality from Zan Vipotnik and the character of his side after they returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Swansea City.

Vipotnik fired the hosts ahead in just the seventh minute at the Swansea.com Stadium, lashing a rising strike into the net from Marko Stamenic’s pass.

Jovon Makama equalised for the Canaries late in the first half, but Vipotnik sealed the win for the Swans with a thudding low strike from 20 yards that flew past Vladan Kovacevic in the Norwich goal.

The Swans boss was delighted with the contribution of the Slovenian, whose tally of eight goals this season has already surpassed his seven from last term.

But he also praised how his side responded to the blow of conceding to go on and claim the three points.

“Vipi is playing with confidence,” he said.

“We have been trying to keep him and Adam (Idah) fresh so they can play with intensity.

“And his goals today were two moments of excellence really, they were top, top quality. He deserved it because he is a great lad.

“I am very pleased for the team as a whole, we started the game really positively, got the goal and we had a few more opportunities to go and get that second goal.

“It didn’t come and then we conceded before half-time. They changed formation at half-time, they bring a lot of numbers to the build-up so we adapted as it can be hard to get enough pressure on the ball high up.

“As a defensive unit we limited them to very, very little and we are delighted with the three points.

“The lads gave everything and worked tirelessly for each other and the badge, so I am very pleased.”
