Alan Sheehan praises leadership of captain Ben Cabango
Alan Sheehan has praised the leadership of Swansea City captain Ben Cabango, and is confident the defender will prove to be an excellent skipper for the club in the long term.
Wales international Cabango was appointed captain at the end of January, and has led the Swans to seven points and three clean sheets from their last four games.
Four of those points and two of those clean sheets have come since Sheehan became caretaker head coach, with an impressive victory over Blackburn Rovers followed by a gritty draw with Preston North End.
And Sheehan has been impressed by how Cabango has adapted to the responsibility.
“Sometimes we judge captains on certain aspects, but they are all different and they can lead in different ways,” he said.
“Ben has transitioned into it really well, and I have such high hopes for him as captain.
“He is a rock and a wonderful player, he is a wonderful person who is great to work with. He has been throughout my time here.
“He is excellent, a proper leader and I have such respect for him. I am sure he will be a wonderful captain for this club.”
