Alfie Mawson ready for Wilfried Bony battle

28th October

Alfie Mawson is relishing the prospect of a battle with Wilfried Bony when Swansea City go to Stoke City on Monday night.
After his impressive debut against Watford last weekend, Mawson is line in for his second Swans appearance as Bob Bradley's men bid to end their eight-game winless Premier League run at the bet365 Stadium.
Mawson is set to go head to head with an ex-Liberty favourite in Bony, who is on a season-long loan at Stoke from Manchester City.
And the former Barnsley man insists he will not be overawed as he squares up to a player who scored 34 goals in 70 Swans appearances.
"I know Bony is a very strong man - I have seen the size of his hamstrings on Match of the Day!" the centre-back said.
"I have respect for him, just like I have for any player I come up against.
"It's going to be a challenge for me, but it's one I will relish.
"I don't care who I play against. They are all normal people.
"I know he is a good player, and Stoke have a few others in attack, but if you think too much about the opposition, you will forget about your own game."

Mawson was one of three new faces in the Swans rearguard as Bradley shuffled his pack last time out.
The rejigged back four delivered a first shutout since the opening day of the season, and Mawson is determined to build on that achievement in the Potteries.
"We got the clean sheet against Watford and that was brilliant for us," he added.
"The good thing was that we were not lucky to get the clean sheet - we limited them to very few chances.
"We loved getting that clean sheet. You thrive off that as a defence and hopefully we can build on that now.
"If we do, we know the results will come. Monday night would be a brilliant place to start because we can show on the TV that we are better than the league table suggests."
