Andy Fisher pleased with pre-season minutes
Swansea City shot-stopper Andy Fisher was pleased to get back out on the pitch after completing 45 minutes against Haverfordwest County in a pre-season friendly on Friday.
The Swans returned to pre-season a fortnight ago but Friday marked the first time they had taken part in an 11-a-side friendly,
After joining the club in January, this is Fisher's first experience of pre-season at Fairwood, but he’s enjoying it so far.
“It was good. It’s about getting your eye back in and it was good fitness for the lads," said Fisher.
“That’s what these games are about – match fitness.
“Pre-season has been good so far, it’s mainly about getting fitness in and blowing away the cobwebs from the summer but I think it’s been good and the lads have been really good.
“The goalkeeper training has also been really good with Deano [Dean Thornton]. The younger lads have really stepped up. It’s been a good standard.”
There was an MK Dons reunion last month when centre-back Harry Darling made the move to SA1 and Fisher was delighted to see his former team-mate arrive at Fairwood.
“I spoke to Harry over the summer, but obviously I’ve got nothing to do with it! It’s the club that’s ultimately made him come here,” he added.
“He’ll be a good addition for us and he’ll make a big impact. I was good friends with him at MK so it’s nice to have him here.”
