Ayew hails spirited display

Andre Ayew hailed Swansea's display of spirit and character as they secured a first-ever Barclays Premier League victory at Everton.
First-half goals from Gylfi Sigurdsson and Ayew helped earn the Swans a 2-1 victory at Goodison Park in Francesco Guidolin's first game as Swans head coach.
Ayew played a key role in both goals - he was the man fouled inside the area, which led to Sigurdsson opening the scoring from the penalty spot, while he drilled home his eighth goal of the season to restore Swansea's advantage after Everton's 26th-minute equaliser.
The Swans were made to withstand heavy pressure in the second half, and the Ghana international was keen to highlight his side's show of second-half spirit as key to their emphatic victory.
"It's a very important three points," said Ayew. "It was a very difficult game, and we needed the points to help us out of the situation we are in.
"We know the second half wasn't very beautiful on our part, but we showed a lot of spirit. We stayed in the game until the end and managed to hold our one-goal lead.
"I think we kept our shape well and showed great character, which is important.
"When you keep fighting and show desire, then sometimes you get a little bit of luck on your side. A few weeks ago, the chance at the end would have gone in.
"We need to keep this spirit. We've won two games and we want to go on a run now."
