Azeem Abdulai will miss Swansea City’s trip to Birmingham City, while the club are awaiting news on Liam Walsh’s ankle injury.

Abdulai, who returned from a hamstring problem against Morecambe in the FA Cup, had to come off in the second half of that fixture with a similar but unrelated issue and will be eased back to action.

Walsh, meanwhile, was injured in the win over West Bromwich Albion, and is currently away from the club while the issue settles down before it can be fully assessed.

Harrison Ashby, Josh Key and Josh Ginnelly are also sidelined for the Swans ahead of the trip to St Andrew’s.

“We are pretty healthy, overall,” said head coach Luke Williams.

“Liam Walsh is away from the club at the moment as he needs things to settle down before we make a better plan for his recovery.

“I know him well, he is a great player and I look forward to having him back.

“There is a small issue with Azeem, he had some problems when he came off and he will be a few weeks as we make sure we bring him back the right way.

“It can be normal that these things happen after a long time, out so we need to be careful.

“Harrison might have a small issue, nothing too serious but will see how he goes, while Josh is out for a few more weeks.”
