Kyle Bartley is poised to return to full training as the central defender steps up his recovery from a long-term knee injury.

Bartley has not played since damaging knee ligaments in the Carabao Cup tie at MK Dons back in August.

The injury came at a bad time for the former Arsenal youngster, who had just forced his way into Paul Clement’s team after returning from a successful loan spell at Leeds United last season.

Now, having worked hard to get back to fitness, Bartley will set his sights on reclaiming a place in Clement’s side.

“Kyle will be rejoining first-team training tomorrow,” said Clement.

“With Kyle back as well as Federico Fernandez, we will have four good players battling it out for two centre-back spots.”
