Ben Cabango | We need to stick together
Captain Ben Cabango has urged everyone to stick together to help Swansea City come out of a tough run of form in the Championship.
The Swans suffered defeat in Vitor Matos’ first game as head coach as a goal in each half gave Derby County the three points on Tuesday evening.
Joe Ward’s close-range header had given the Rams the interval lead, although Swansea could consider themselves unfortunate to be behind having dominated possession.
They fell further behind when Lars-Jorgan Salvesen capitalised on poor defending early in the second half and, while Ethan Galbraith fired home a goal in stoppage time, there was no way back for Swansea.
It means Swansea have recorded four straight defeats, and skipper Cabango insists the only way to turn things around is for the group to stick together and dig deep for each other under the new head coach.
"We're disappointed. The new coach has only been in three days, so it has been hard with preparation," said the Wales international.
"It's frustrating that things aren't going our way, and we need to better, and we know we can be better.
"It's hard for us as players, and it's as hard for fans watching the games. I know it's frustrating for all of us, and we need to stick together.
"The more support we get from them is going to help us along the way, but we need to earn that support by giving them better performances and we know that."
