Ben Erickson | Win was big boost for Under-23s
Ben Erickson felt Swansea City Under-23s' 2-0 win over QPR can be the impetuous to kick on this season.
The Swans took the lead through a Jaden Forrester penalty before Sam Leverett doubled the lead just two minutes later.
The win saw Swansea climb up to seventh in Professional Development League South, ending a run of four games without a win in the league.
Erickson was pleased with the clean sheet, while he felt it was a big morale boost for the squad.
“We’re really happy with the result," said the centre-back. "We all really needed it, both the coaches and the players, so hopefully it’s just the lift we needed to crack on now.
“It’s good to score goals - we haven’t had the chance to celebrate too many this season, so it’s always nice when we do score.
“But mainly we kept a clean sheet which is what we’ve struggled with. If you keep a clean sheet you can always go from there.
“It’s massive for morale. We’ve got another game before Christmas against Millwall which is another winnable game, so if we take three points from that then we can really kick on in the new year.
“We had to adapt to the conditions against QPR - the pitch wasn’t great, we like to play nice attractive football but sometimes it wasn’t available to us, so we adapted well, did it when we could whilst also being sensible enough to see the game out.”
