Byers banned for three games

11th December

George Byers will be suspended for Swansea City Under-23s’ next three Premier League 2 matches following his red card at Blackburn on Monday.

The midfielder was sent off early in the second half of the 3-1 defeat for a challenge on Rovers striker Sam Nuttall.

Byers will now be banned for the young Swans’ home clashes against Liverpool (December 17) and Leicester City (January 14), as well as the trip to Derby on January 7.

He will, however, be available for the under-23s’ Premier League International Cup tie with Hertha Berlin at Landore on Thursday (7pm).

The ban does not apply to first-team games, so Byers is available to Graham Potter if required.
