Goalkeeper Carl Rushworth has described the Jack Army as Swansea City’s 12th player as he prepares for Saturday’s clash with Championship leaders Leicester City.

The Swans host the Foxes at the Swansea.com Stadium looking to extend an unbeaten run of five games, winning their last four in succession.

The visitors have won 10 of their first 11 games in the league, backing up their pre-season status as the leading promotion favourites following their relegation from the Premier League.

Rushworth, 22, says facing the recent top-flight and FA Cup winners is a challenge the Swans will relish, particularly with the Swansea.com Stadium roaring them on.

“I think all the lads are relishing the opportunity,” said the keeper.

“You look at their recent history, they’ve won the Premier League and the FA Cup and they’ve had a really good start to the season.

“Even though they have dropped down a division, they have a squad full of players with Premier League experience.

“That is the level everyone wants to get to, so the chance to take on a team and players like that is great test and challenge for us.

“We have a chance to show what we can do. Every game is difficult, but come Saturday it is 11 players against 11, you play on the same pitch in the same stadium.

“It’s down to how you perform, I am sure there will be a great atmosphere, the fans have been brilliant with me since I came in and they were fantastic in helping us get over the line at Plymouth.

“Having them right behind us gives us so much confidence, I’ve always said they are like the 12th player for us.”
