Carlos nominated for manager of the month

7th February
First team

Carlos Carvalhal has been nominated for the Barclays Manager of the Month award for January.

The Swansea City boss makes the seven-man shortlist having made a dramatic impact at the Liberty Stadium following his appointment at the end of December.

Carvalhal’s team began January with an unfortunate defeat by Tottenham Hotspur.

But they then claimed a 1-1 draw at Newcastle before chalking up famous victories over Liverpool and Arsenal.

Carvalhal’s impact has been very impressive given that the Swans were bottom of the table when he took charge.

The Portuguese is up against a number of top-class managers who also enjoyed January.

Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, West Ham’s David Moyes, Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe, Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp and Jose Mourinho, of Manchester United, are also nominated.

The winner of the award will be announced on Friday, February 16, and fans can now play a part in deciding who takes the trophy.

You can now vote for your winner, with the public's verdict then taken into account alongside the views of a panel of experts to decide which manager comes out on top.

You can vote for Carlos on Facebook HERE or on Twitter HERE. Voting will close at midnight on Monday, February 12.
