Celina: Play-offs not out of reach

Bersant Celina insists Swansea City’s squad can still force their way into the Championship play-off spots.

Graham Potter’s men have been within reaching distance of the top six for much of the campaign, but have not quite been able to bridge the gap.

The margin has risen to nine points as Championship fixtures took place while the Swans were in FA Cup action against Brentford.

On the back of that morale-boosting 4-1 success, they return to league action with a trip to Hillsborough to take on Sheffield Wednesday.

The Owls form has improved since the turn of the year, with the arrival of Steve Bruce as manager providing a further boost for the Yorkshire club.

Swansea have lost their last two games on their travels, against Bristol City and Leeds, but midfielder Celina believes they can bounce back and keep themselves in the fight for the top six.

“We’ll be looking to start up there in the same fashion we finished the previous game,” he said.

“We’re going there full of confidence and will try to win.

“The boys still believe we can get in the play-offs and there’s no reason why we can’t.

“We have a chance to do well in two competitions and, hopefully, at least one of them will be successful.”
