Christmas Week of Giving | Swansea YMCA Christmas Dinner
Swansea City players Melker Widell, Josh Key and Paul Farman donned their aprons to help serve Christmas dinner to a very special group of young people at the club's Fairwood Training Ground.
Guests from the YMCA Swansea Young Carers' Club were invited to visit the Swans base and have a tour of the facilities before settling down for turkey and all the trimmings courtesy of head chef Chris Watkins and his team, as well as suppliers I.G Mooney Butchers.
YMCA Swansea provides tailored support to young carers aged between eight and 18, who may provide care for a family member with a long-term illness, disability or condition.
The evening provided the young carers with a respite from their responsibilities, and they had the chance to get autographs and pose for pictures with the men's first-team squad members.
"Our young carers and their families absolutely loved the experience at the Swans’ training ground," said Kyle McLaughlin of YMCA Swansea Young Carers' Service.
"It was such a highlight for them just to be in the venue, and meeting the players was like an extra bonus present that made their Christmas even better.
"We truly appreciate everything the Swans did to make a real difference to our young carers. We're so grateful."
