Connor Roberts | We have to be better

Connor Roberts says Swansea City simply have to improve and cut out sloppy errors to make sure they avoid a repeat of their Derby frustration.

The Swans had hit back from a goal down to lead against the Rams on Saturday, with Yan Dhanda and Kyle Naughton finding the net early in the second half.

But the hosts were unable to go on and claim the spoils, with Duane Holmes and Tom Lawrence netting the decisive blows for the visitors.

It left Swansea to nurse a sense of frustration, with head coach Steve Cooper feeling his side had only themselves to blame for letting the lead slip.

And Roberts says the Swans have to learn their lessons if they are to improve and make sure they finish the campaign strongly.

“It’s obviously very disappointing,” said the full-back, who returned from a shoulder injury.

“We did really well to respond to going behind and putting ourselves in front. But after some sloppy play, they punished us.

“We started well before falling behind, but then fought our way back into the game in the second half.

“Conceding three goals at home is very disappointing. We can’t really expect to win games if we concede so many goals.

“We know what we want to try and do, but we have to be better.

“There’s a game coming up on Tuesday against QPR, and we just have to try and put things right.

“But there’s no point just saying it, we have to do it.”
