Cooper praises quality of Swansea City goals
Swansea City head coach Steve Cooper praised the quality of the goals his side scored in their latest pre-season win at Bristol Rovers.
The Swans ran out 3-0 winners at the Memorial Stadium as Jay Fulton, Borja Baston and Joel Asoro found the net.
Fulton’s was a wonderful strike from distance as the midfielder made it four goals in two pre-season starts.
Lovely interplay and movement saw Borja tuck away his first goal in a Swansea shirt since October 2016 from Oli McBurnie’s delightful through ball.
And Asoro rounded off the scoring as Swansea committed bodies forward during a late attack and Barrie McKay picked out the Swede.
“There were three good goals tonight,” acknowledged Cooper.
“Jay’s was a fantastic strike, Borja’s was a good goal. It was fantastic movement, I loved Oli’s positioning for the final pass that played him in and obviously it was a great little run and finish from Borja.
“Then to get a third goal after it – where we have been working on people getting into the box – with Joel getting a header or a touch from a cross means I am really happy with the goals we scored and the chances we are creating.”
