Jonathan de Guzman scored twice as Swansea City beat Norwich 3-0 to move seven points clear of Premier League danger on March 29, 2014.

Wayne Routledge was also on target as Garry Monk’s side eased their relegation worries with six matches remaining.

There was a tense atmosphere at the Liberty Stadium with the Swans desperate to end a run of nine games without a win.

But the mood was lifted on the half-hour mark when Jonjo Shelvey’s cross was only cleared as far as De Guzman, who beat John Ruddy with a fine left-footed volley from the edge of the box.

The Dutchman scored his and the Swans’ second just eight minutes later.

Retrieving possession after sloppy play from Norwich, the midfielder played a neat one-two with Wilfried Bony before delicately lifting the ball over the onrushing Ruddy.

Routledge then got in on the act as the Swans put the game to bed 15 minutes from time.

After winning possession back on the halfway line, Shelvey latched onto Bony’s return pass before feeding Routledge, who drilled a low shot into the far corner to wrap up a huge three points for Monk’s men.
