Double delight for Vorm

12th January

Michel Vorm saluted another Barclays Premier League clean sheet and point as the Swans held Everton at Goodison Park.
An excellent defensive display from Michael Laudrup's side saw them come away with a hard-fought point against a team boasting one of the strongest home records in the top flight.
And Vorm, restored to the starting line-up after seeing Gerhard Tremmel get the nod for the Capital One Cup win over Chelsea in midweek, was delighted with the Swans performance as they stretched their unbeaten run to seven matches.
"They are one of the best teams in the league, especially at home, but we managed to get a point which is a good result for us," said the Dutch international.
"This was more about defending and dealing with their physical threat, and we did that very well.
"In games like this you need to show character and we certainly did that.
"Last season we lost twice to them, and they won 3-0 at the Liberty this season.
"But we defended so well against them for 90 minutes this time so to get a clean sheet is very satisfying."
Spain boss Vincente del Bosque was among the spectators as he cast his eye over Swans quartet Michu, Angel Rangel, Pablo Hernandez and Chico Flores.
And Vorm feels Chico's performance will have caught the eye of del Bosque as he looks ahead to next month's friendly with Uruguay in Qatar.
"The Spanish team has plenty of options, but I think Chico deserves a chance," added Vorm.
"He has played in La Liga and in Italy, and he is proving very consistent for us in the Premier League.
"He fought for everything out there against Everton - as he always does - and he was excellent.
"Chico is a defender that will not only win a lot of headers in key positions and make important tackles, he is also very comfortable with the ball.
"Those skills are very important to a team like Spain, and I think their manager would have been impressed by Chico's performance.
"I know they have a friendly coming up, and I think it would be a great place for him to look at Chico."
