Michael Duff hopes Harrison Ashby will take confidence from his best performance so far for Swansea City in victory at Blackburn Rovers.

Josh Key’s form has meant the Newcastle loanee has had to be patient, but he made the most of his opportunity with important contributions at both ends of the pitch in the 1-0 win at Ewood Park.

And Duff was pleased with his all-round display, and believes it will give the full-back something to build on.

“I am pleased for Harrison, I had a good chat with him and we went through his clips from the game the other night,” said the head coach.

“The challenge for him is that the intensity is something he has not been used to, so the challenge for him was to get through 90 minutes, whether that be from a fitness point of view or a mentality point of view.

“He got through it today, he finished the game really strongly and that is the best we have seen of him.

“Hopefully he can grow from that.”
