Swansea City AFC Foundation will hold a girls-only football festival in February as it looks to build on the success and growth of its sessions at seven venues.

The girls-only sessions were first launched in December 2021, beginning with weekly sessions in Pembroke, and have proved a considerable success.

As the project has grown, the Foundation has added sessions in Carmarthen, Llanelli, Gowerton, Newtown, Aberystwyth and Morriston.

In 2022, the sessions saw almost 200 young girls take part in drills and games as they developed their skills in a welcoming and supportive environment for girls of all abilities.

The sessions have also had support from a number of players from Swansea City Ladies, including Chloe Chivers, Stacey John-Davis, Ellie Lake and Jess Williams.

In addition to the sessions, Swansea City AFC Foundation will be running their first girls' football festival.

The festival offers a two-hour football session, with an hour of skills and drills before matches and tournaments, as well as a tour of the Swansea.com Stadium.
