Federico Fernandez goes under the spotlight in Jack Magazine

30th October 2015

Federico Fernandez goes under the spotlight in Saturday afternoon's Jack Magazine as he aims to take inspiration from the heroic efforts of his rugby-playing compatriots.
As the Swans host Arsenal at the Liberty Stadium on this afternoon (3pm), Fernandez speaks to the official matchday magazine about rugby, his love of travelling and growing up in Argentina.
"It was my first rugby game, so it was amazing that it was the quarter-final of the World Cup - such a big game against Ireland," reflects the 26-year-old, who believes he can take inspiration from his countrymen's efforts.
"I am very happy for these guys, who put on a great show. I know how they must have been feeling - the excitement and the pressure. It has been a very important moment for rugby in Argentina.
"I met Joaquin Tuculet, the Argentina full-back, after the game because the players stayed in the stadium to celebrate with the supporters. He supports Estudiantes, the club I used to play for.
"I heard that Maradona was in Cardiff too, but I didn't see him!"

Elsewhere in Saturday's matchday magazine, we get to know a little bit more about Swans starlet Mael Davies in our Under-18s feature, while U21s goalkeeper Josh Vickers talks about his switch from Arsenal, working with Tony Roberts and taking advantage of a beach life in Swansea.
Meanwhile, former Arsenal and current goalkeeping coach Roberts speaks to Jack Magazine about his time at both clubs, TV Presenter Piers Morgan takes centre-stage in 'A Famous Face', and Matt Grimes features in 'Six of the Best'.
And if that wasn't enough for you, we have plenty more insightful and entertaining features to whet your appetite right up until kick-off!
Jack Magazine is available for just £3 on matchday from around the Liberty Stadium, the Club Shop and online.
It will also be available in Slee Stores in Plasmari, Coggers on Wind Street and Browns Newsagent in Landore.
