Swans skipper Federico Fernandez is hopeful of being fit for Saturday’s home clash with Chelsea despite being forced off in the defeat to Manchester City.
The centre-back had to replaced after 67 minutes at the Etihad Stadium with a knee injury sustained during a clash with Raheem Sterling – a challenge which led to a Manchester City penalty.
But Fernandez remains upbeat about his chances of featuring against the FA Cup finalists at the Liberty.
“I am fine. I got hit painfully on the knee and I had to come off,” he said.
“It doesn’t look so bad. Hopefully it will mean a couple of days' recovery and I will be ready for next weekend.
“I need to discuss it with the doctor. It seems to be in the tendons but I hope I will be available against Chelsea.”
