George Byers | West Brom trip a test of our credentials

George Byers knows facing West Brom will be a test of Swansea City’s credentials, but feels Steve Cooper’s side can travel to The Hawthorns with a positive mindset.

The two sides will be putting their respective unbeaten records on the line in Sunday’s lunchtime kick-off.

The Swans are the only side in the EFL still unbeaten away from home, while the Baggies are yet to suffer a home league defeat under Slaven Bilic.

Albion currently sit top of the division having won seven and drawn two of their last nine games.

Midfielder Byers knows they will pose a stern test for the Swans, but believes the resilience they have shown on their travels so far this term will stand them in good stead.

“It will be a really good test of our credentials. They’re top of the league at the moment and a very good side,” he said.

“I’ve watched them play quite a few times and they look good, but it’s a game we’re looking forward to.

“We’ll be looking to bounce back and get a win, so we must be positive.

“We’ve got nothing to lose in games like this. We’ve got to try and set our mark in the early parts of the game and take it forward and get a result.

“We’re still unbeaten away from home and that will stand us in good stead.

“We’re really solid on the road and putting in good performances. There’s no reason why we can’t get another good result.”
