Donate your boots to the Boot Room on December 2

Swansea City’s upcoming home match against Huddersfield Town on December 2, 2023 will provide an opportunity for supporters to back The Boot Room’s boot donation campaign ahead of Christmas.

The Boot Room was launched by Swans’ fan Carl Bradley in 2019 with the aim of breaking down financial barriers to playing football by providing free boots and kit to children and young people who need them.

In the midst of a cost-of-living crisis, and with prices of football boots rising year on year, The Boot Room project is even more pertinent now than when it launched four years ago.

If you have wearable boots which you no longer use, you can donate them to The Boot Room at a specific drop-off point located in the club shop in the lead up to Saturday’s match against The Terriers.

The club shop will be open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9.30am to 5pm.

As well as having the significant and positive impact of providing young people across Swansea with the opportunity to play football, donating boots and unwanted sporting clothes can also help lessen our collective impact on the environment.

Recycling clothing and footwear can substantially reduce items in landfill sites, with an estimated 350,000 tonnes of clothing going to waste each year, increasing greenhouse gas emissions and causing harm to the environment.

Carl said: “The Boot Room is proud to partner Swansea City for a fourth consecutive season.

“It gives you real belief it what you’re trying to achieve when a football club like Swansea City supports you, and the relationship we have with the club is excellent.

“We would like to thank chairman Andy Coleman and head of fan engagement Cath Thomas for all the help and support they have given us so far.”
