'Give a Jack a Jacket' campaign returns
Swansea City AFC Foundation is once again helping those in need this winter with the return of the ‘Give a Jack a Jacket’ campaign, and is calling on the Jack Army to show its support.
Following the fantastic response to previous campaigns, supporters are once again being encouraged to donate unwanted coats and jackets to help provide warmth and comfort to people in need across Swansea and the wider community during the colder months.
Last season, more than 250 items of warm clothing were generously donated by supporters, with donations distributed to 10 charities across Swansea and the surrounding region.
This season’s ‘Give a Jack a Jacket’ campaign will run from October 10 until December 7, giving supporters plenty of opportunity to get involved and make a difference.
Fans can donate coats and jackets that they no longer need, which will then be distributed to local organisations supporting people who need them most this winter.
Two drop-off points will be available at the Swansea.com Stadium, located inside main reception and at the club shop.
The club shop drop-off point will also be available to supporters attending Swansea City home fixtures during the campaign period.
Lloyd Thomas, inclusion manager at Swansea City AFC Foundation, said: “The support we have received for Give a Jack a Jacket has been fantastic, and we are delighted to be running the campaign again this winter. “Every coat or jacket donated can make a genuine difference to someone in our community during the colder months, so we are once again asking the Jack Army and our local communities to get behind the campaign. If you have a coat or jacket at home that you no longer use, please consider donating it and helping us ensure it reaches someone who really needs it.”
Previous editions of the campaign have supported a range of charitable organisations across Swansea and the surrounding area, helping them provide warm clothing directly to people experiencing homelessness and others facing difficult circumstances.
‘Give a Jack a Jacket’ will run from October 10 to December 7. Donations can be made at the Swansea.com Stadium throughout the campaign.
