Gorre named in Checkatrade team

9th April

Kenji Gorre has been named in this season’s Checkatrade Trophy team of the Tournament.

The Dutch winger, who joined the Swans in 2013, scored four goals in four games as the young Swans claimed victories over EFL sides Cheltenham Town, Newport County and Forest Green.

The 23-year-old also gave the Swans the lead against Charlton in round two of the competition before the Addicks bounced back to defeat the under-21s 3-2 at the Liberty Stadium and end this season's run.

Gorre is only one of two academy players to be named in the Checkatrade Trophy team alongside Chelsea forward Callum Hudson-Odoi.

League Two side Lincoln City upset the odds to beat League One side Shrewsbury Town 1-0 and lift the 2017-18 title at Wembley on Sunday.
