Gould signs new Swansea City deal

25th June

Swansea City goalkeeper Josh Gould has signed a new one-year deal that extends his stay with the club until June 2020.

The 22-year-old joined the Swans’ development set-up in August 2018 following a successful trial.

The former Bridgewater Town, Cardiff Met and Taffs Well goalkeeper made his bow for the under-23s in their 1-1 Premier League 2 draw with Derby County last August, saving a penalty on debut.

The shot-stopper went on to make four appearances in all for the under-23s throughout the 2018-19 campaign, competing against Gregor Zabret and Steven Benda, and also had a short loan spell with Merthyr Town.

Benda, 20, also recently signed a new deal with the Swans, a three-year deal securing his future until June 2022.
