Guidolin: Leicester deserved to win

24th April

Francesco Guidolin felt the best team won as Swansea City suffered their biggest defeat of the season against Leicester on Sunday.
The Foxes ran riot at the King Power Stadium to secure a 4-0 win and move eight points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
First-half goals from Riyad Mahrez and Leonardo Ulloa put the home side firmly in control, while Ulloa added a second on the hour mark before substitute Marc Albrighton netted a fourth late on.
The Swans, by contrast, had just one shot on target in what was a disappointing afternoon and Guidolin insisted that the hosts deserved their win.
"Leicester deserved to win today," he said. "I'm disappointed because after the first goal they played great football and were strong on the counter attack.
"I chose to play with Gylfi (Sigurdsson) as a false nine and in the first six or seven minutes we played well. But after they scored it became difficult for us.
"I said in the build up to the game that 40 points isn't enough for us. We now have two home games to play - and one away - and I hope my team can play well in those remaining matches.
"But Leicester deserve to win the title because they are a strong team.
"This is a dream for them and for Claudio (Ranieri). Now I can understand why he was so emotional recently. I'm very happy for him."
Meanwhile, Ranieri was understandably delighted to see his side move one step closer to a historic title win.
"It was a fantastic performance," he said. "I still think Tottenham will win all their matches and even though we need five points, it won't be easy.
"We had a dream. Now we must fight to make the dream a reality."
