Hannes Delcroix believes Swansea City’s clear style of play will be a perfect fit for him, after completing a loan move from Burnley.

The Belgium international has joined the Swans for the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign, and provides a versatile defensive option for head coach Luke Williams, with Delcroix – who will wear the number 28 shirt – able to play in central and left-sided roles.

Delcroix has previously played in possession-based teams under Vincent Kompany at Anderlecht and Burnley, and following discussions with the Swans boss he is confident he can flourish and help his new club on and off the ball.

“It was clear on the way the coach wants to play, and it fits me really well. He’s a great coach; you can see his vision in the game,” he said.

“I like to have a lot of the ball. I looked at the data and Swansea have a lot of possession.

“I like to build up from the back, and I think Swansea fits my style of play.

“I think I’m always comfortable on the ball, I like to cover the spaces of full-backs, and I hope everyone will see me play and see what my qualities are.

“I am very excited to be here, it happened at short notice but I am happy. I just want to help the team as much as I can.”

Delcroix links up with his new teammates on Friday, including a familiar face in former Burnley keeper Lawrence Vigouroux.

“I’m looking forward to it, of course, I know Lawrence already from Burnley, he is a great guy,” he added.

“I’m looking forward to meeting my teammates to get to know them, I’m really excited to see them.

“I have learnt so much, going into the Premier League is always difficult but you learn so much from being there.

“Being with the national team was a great experience, and I hope I can share these experiences with the team as well.”
