Club

The popular Jacks Zone will be back in full swing for the visit of Paul Clement’s Reading to the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.

Fans can take cover from any inclement weather in the large marquee outside the South Stand from 12.30pm, where they’ll find a live band, live Championship football on the large TV screens and a special drinks promotion.

Outside the marquee for the more energetic there are activations for the kids, plus four table football games for the young and not so young.

Making their debut on the marquee stage will be The Bullfrogs, a powerful three-piece band playing country rock and blues.

They are fronted by Carl Jones (guitar/vocals), who has played and worked with Colin Blunstone (The Zombies), Tony McPhee (The Groundhogs), Stuart Elliott (Cockney Rebel), Russ Ballard (Argent), The Snake Corps and Showaddywaddy.

Having returned to Wales after 35 years living and working in England, he hooked up with experienced Swansea musicians Anthony Eynon (bass/vocals) and Steve Roberts (drums) to form The Bullfrogs.

The band has built up a strong following in South Wales, playing covers by bands such as Tom Petty, Eric Clapton, Rolling Stones, Beatles, ZZ Top, Free, T-Rex and David Bowie.

The live Championship game being shown on the large TV screens sees high-flying Middlesbrough take on Derby County (12.30pm).

Behind the bar there will also be a special drinks promotion for the game, with bottles of Coors Light (330ml) at just £2 and Stowford Press Cider at £3 (500ml). Other drinks will also be available.

So why not start your matchday early and come down to the Jacks Zone? You can enter via the entrance to the South car park, halfway down the red tarmac of the South Stand or from the retail park foot bridge.

The Jacks Zone will be open from 12.30pm to 2.45pm.

Supporters must have a match ticket to enter the Jacks Zone. No drinks can be brought into the Jacks Zone. Under-14s must be accompanied by an adult. The Jacks Zone will be closed during and after the game.
