Jake Bidwell is raring for the Championship season to start after settling in to life at Swansea City.

Bidwell joined the Swans earlier this month as a free agent, having racked up over 200 appearances during spells with Brentford and QPR.

The Everton product had a later start to pre-season than his team-mates and had previously admitted it would take a little time to get up to speed.

But the 26-year-old feels his understanding is growing with his team-mates, and he made several notable contributions in the 2-1 win over Atalanta on Saturday.

Now, with the Championship opener against Hull looming on the horizon, Bidwell cannot wait for the serious business to start.

“I think I’ve settled in well, I think the team’s performances have improved and my own performances have as well,” he said.

“I still want to keep improving and adding to my game and the team’s game.

“I feel the relationships on the pitch are forming and we’re developing that understanding now, so I’m definitely in a better place than I was a few weeks ago and hopefully I’ll continue to improve.

“We’ve had a few different tests throughout pre-season and we have come through them all.

“We have added little things to our performances week by week, game by game and I’m sure we’ll do that again next weekend against Hull. We’ll all be raring to go on Saturday.”
