Jake Bidwell says he and his Swansea City team-mates are desperate to give their travelling fans the result they deserve at Blackburn this weekend.

Steve Cooper and his players have regularly praised the support of the Jack Army – home and away – this season, and were extremely grateful for the vocal support they received from more than 1,500 Swans fans at Craven Cottage on Wednesday night.

Unfortunately, a controversial encounter with Fulham ended in heartbreak for players, staff and fans alike after Aleksandar Mitrovic headed in at the death after numerous penalty incidents.

Full-back Bidwell says the players felt for the supporters, but they want to make sure there is no repeat when they head to Ewood Park on Saturday.

“After Fulham we faced the long journey back to Swansea, fans included, and everyone was disappointed,” he said.

Swansea City supporters

“We got back to work in the morning and started preparing for Blackburn. We have to bounce back quickly and secure the win on Saturday.

“The fans were different class at Fulham, and they have been all season.

“I’m gutted for them as well, it’s a long way home for them and another long trip up to Blackburn on Saturday.

“I’m gutted for them, but they kept us going. We appreciate the support and I’m sure they’ll be back out in force on Saturday and we want to make sure we give them the right result to cheer.”
