Daniel James aims to keep improving after being given a licence to express himself under Graham Potter.

The 20-year-old put in another eye-catching performance on Saturday as the Swans slipped to a 2-1 defeat at Rotherham United.

James proved a useful outlet down the Swans’ left flank, with the winger setting up Oli McBurnie for the opening goal of the game.

James had also set up three goals in the wins over Blackburn and Reading prior to Saturday’s trip to Yorkshire.

And he puts his recent form down to Potter giving him the freedom to express himself.

“The manager just wants me to get on the ball and play. That’s what a winger loves to hear,” said James.

“I’m enjoying my freedom out there.

“I’ve a lot to improve on and the manager and my team-mates have been great with me. Hopefully I can repay them with more performances.”
