Joe Allen wants Swansea City to build on victory at Sunderland by delivering another positive performance when they host Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.

The Swans have won back-to-back away games against the Black Cats and Hull, and now return to the Swansea.com Stadium looking to record a first home league win since New Year’s Day.

Allen says the hosts are full of confidence going into the game against Blackburn Rovers, but knows they need to perform with real intensity to give themselves the best chance of taking the three points.

Blackburn is a game we are looking forward to, and the win at Sunderland has given us confidence going into the match,” said Allen.

“We will look to play with the same intensity as we did last weekend and, with the home crowd behind us on our own turf, it's a recipe for a good performance and we have to go out and deliver it.”

Allen set up Swansea’s second goal at the Stadium of Light, tigerishly winning possession in midfield before delivering a fine pass for Ronald to find the net.

It was the midfielder’s second start in a row, and he is keen to keep making important contributions after a frustrating first half of the campaign.

“The first half of the season was a bit of a write off for me, having had the surgery on my groin I was just looking ahead to making an impact during the second half of the season,” he said.

“I have had two starts on the bounce now which is something for me to hopefully build on, it's up to me to make sure that my performances are worthy of keeping a place in my team.”
