Joel Latibeaudiere says Swansea City are ready to build on the momentum from their midweek victory at Reading when they return to home turf to host Sheffield United under the lights at the Swansea.com Stadium on Saturday (8pm).

Latibeaudiere opened the scoring against the Royals in the Carabao Cup, scoring his first goal since joining the Swans from Manchester City last October.

Now, having been roared on by the Swans fans in Berkshire, he is looking forward to getting back in front of a near-capacity home crowd and making further progress against the Blades.

“I just wanted to say a big thanks to the travelling Jacks who come and support us every week and they were class," he said.

“I feel that it almost put things right for after last Saturday, and we want to take that result and performance back to Swansea on Saturday for our first home game and hopefully we can do it again for them there.”

The Swans face a Sheffield United who have spent the previous two seasons in the Premier League, and include a pair of popular ex-Swansea players in Rhian Brewster and Oli McBurnie.

But, after putting in a dominant performance at the Select Leasing Car Stadium, Latibeaudiere feels the hosts can take plenty of confidence going into Saturday’s Championship clash.

“Playing against a team that has just been relegated is going to be tough but we’re buzzing for it. Especially after a performance like that," he added.

“The gaffer said to us after the game that there are still loads of things that we need to work on and improve on, and we’re just going to get better with him.

“Every day we’re training hard and hopefully Saturday we can put a performance like that in again.”
