Joel Piroe wants Swansea City to bounce back and return to winning ways quickly when they face Barnsley at Oakwell on Wednesday.

The Swans missed the chance to record a fifth home win in a row against Blackpool on Saturday, but Keshi Anderson’s 86th minute equaliser saw the Seasiders snatch a point at the Swansea.com Stadium.

But the striker, who had given the Swans the lead with a superb strike from the edge of the area, wants Russell Martin’s side to put that disappointment behind them.

“Getting three points is the main goal and we know that we can do better,” he said.

“So, we will need to go out and do better on Wednesday against a good team, and it’s that quick that we don’t have time to dwell on this game and we can just move on.

“Blackpool did their homework, we had dominated the first half but we lacked intensity in the second half.

“We know we need to do better than that.”

The 22-year-old’s tally for the season now stands at 11 in all competitions following his stunning right footed effort into the top left corner.

And, while he is known as being left-footed, he revealed the hard work he has put in on the training ground to hone his finishing with either foot.

“When I first got the ball I went onto my left and saw Ben Cabango make a good run but the defender went with him so I took it to my right, I saw the space and I just hit it strong,” he said.

“I have worked really hard on my finishing and using both feet, so it’s good to see that pay off.”
