Joel Ward is in contention to make his Swansea City debut in Sunday’s FA Cup tie against West Bromwich Albion, with Josh Key also available after returning from a foot injury.

Full-back Ward has joined the Swans on a deal until the end of the season, and is fit enough to play a part against the Baggies at the Swansea.com Stadium.

Key, meanwhile, has returned to training after suffering a deep cut to his foot in the league game against West Brom on New Year’s Day.

Liam Cullen is close on a return from his calf problem, while Ricardo Santos is also back training following a hip problem.

Ishe Samuels-Smith has a groin injury which is being assessed, while Adam Idah is out for the long term with a hamstring injury.

Ollie Cooper is cup-tied having played for Wigan in the earlier rounds of the competition.

“The squad is looking good,” said head coach Vitor Matos.

“Joel is available, he has done all our testing and training and the medical team are happy with his condition.

“Ishe has reported a small problem and we will assess him, then we have Josh Key who is back in training.

“Liam will be back next week, and Rico is also back in training.”
