Ladies hit six past Newcastle Emlyn

28th April

Swans Ladies extended their unbeaten League run to eight matches following a 6-1 win over Newcastle Emlyn.
The Swans went into the game needing to rack up the goals to overcome the advantage held by Cardiff Met at the top of the table and they started well, taking the lead in the fourth minute courtesy of Chloe Lloyd.
Lloyd then extended the visitors' lead after 12 minutes when she latched onto a mistake by the goalkeeper and lobbed the ball into an empty net.
Swansea continued to create chances for the rest of the half but could not add to their tally, leaving Emlyn to halve the deficit before the break.
Although the home side put up a brave performance, the Swans continued to look the better team and added a third goal on 57 minutes when Emma Beynon had a shot saved by the goalkeeper but managed to get to the rebound and force it over the line.
Manager Ian Owen then made inspired substitutions by replacing both full backs with attacking players Stacey John and Katie Davies.
And both players scored in the last 10 minutes of the game by getting on the end of right wing crosses from Beynon to make it 5-1.
The visitors added a sixth in added time as Beynon scored from the penalty spot.
