Ladies knock holders out of FAW Cup
20th February
Swansea City Ladies repeated their League Cup success earlier this season with victory over Cardiff Met in the FAW Women's Cup.
Cardiff started brightly but failed to create any clear cut chances before the only goal of the game was scored by Katy Hosford in the 18th minute.
Both teams showed their commitment for the remainder of the first half, however there were no further goals and Swansea City went into the break with a 1-0 lead.
Cardiff Met made a number of tactical changes during the second half to try to get back into the game but the hard-working Swans held firm to progress to the semi-final.
Hosford said: "I'm really happy with the win, we knew it was going to be tough but the girls gave 100 per cent for the full 90 minutes.
"Everyone played for each other and the hard work paid off in the end.
"It's nice to have beaten the current holders and we are looking forward to the semi-final against Cyncoed Ladies."
