Lawrence Vigouroux | Clean sheet a team effort
Lawrence Vigouroux praised the Swansea City’s defensive unit for a strong display against Leicester City as a clean sheet helped claim a 1-0 victory at the King Power Stadium.
The Swans got their first win away win at Leicester City in nearly 76 years thanks to Zan Vipotnik’s goal. The Slovenian struck the decisive blow early in the second half after Jisung Eom had picked off a telegraphed Leicester free-kick to surge nearly the length of the pitch, before teeing up Vipotnik to lash home
It was a twelfth clean sheet of the season for Vigouroux - who totalled 14 overall last campaign - with the Chilean stopper making two key saves as the Swans extended their unbeaten run to three matches.
"I thought we played really well, we had some great spells," said Vigouroux.
"They're a great side, they've got great players and they were in the Premier League last year. I thought we dealt with their threat really well.
"We've come away with three points and that's all that matters.
"I think alongside Burgess and Cabango, Sam [Parker] and Tymon were outstanding again, and when Wardy comes on he brings on that wealth of experience.
"It helps the whole team, not just me, knowing that we have such a good defensive base. Especially when you're coming to places like this where you know you have to dig deep."
