Liam Cullen completes transfer to Leicester City

Swansea City forward Liam Cullen has joined Leicester City for an undisclosed fee, subject to the relevant clearance.

The Wales international links up with the Foxes as they seek promotion from League One following relegation from the second tier at the end of last season.

Lifelong Jack Cullen has been with the Swans since the age of eight, rising through the ranks at his boyhood club to make over 200 senior appearances and score a number of crucial goals.

Hailing from Kilgetty, Cullen attended Swans games at the Vetch as a youngster before being signed up by his boyhood club.

He made his debut for the club’s under-18s at the age of just 13, and rose to the first team set-up after an incredible run of 17 goals in 21 games for the under-23 team.

He made his senior bow aged just 19 when he appeared as a substitute against Crystal Palace in a Carabao Cup tie in 2018.

His first senior goal proved crucial as his finish against Reading on the final day of the 2019-20 season helped Swansea force their way into the play-off places in emphatic fashion.

A further 36 goals in Swans colours have followed, with the last of those being the stunning long-range goal from over 40 yards in the win over Stoke City in March.

Three of his goals came in south Wales derbies; in the famous 3-2 win at Cardiff City Stadium in 2023, a 2-0 home victory in 2024, and the 1-1 draw in SA1 later that year.

Cullen has also won 15 senior caps for Wales, and he leaves with 207 Swansea appearances to his name having represented the club with tremendous pride, passion and distinction on and off the pitch over the past two decades.
