Swansea City striker Liam Cullen has been named the Premier League 2 Player of the Month for January 2020.

The in-form forward netted 10 goals in all competitions during the first month of the new decade, with four of them coming in two league appearances.

The 20-year-old, who recently signed a new contract with the Swans, netted the winner against Stoke before scoring a hat-trick in the 5-1 victory over Middlesbrough.

Cullen becomes the first Swansea player to win the award since Oli McBurnie in January 2017.

The Wales Under-21 international, who has subsequently made two senior appearances from the bench in February, beat off competition from the likes of Leicester striker Admiral Muskwe, as well as Ben Knight of Manchester City and Arsenal’s Matthew Smith.
