Liam Cullen hopes Swansea City can build on their point at Coventry on Friday night and start 2024 by putting three points on the board against West Bromwich Albion on New Year’s Day.

Cullen netted the last-gasp equaliser at the CBS Arena, firing a free-kick into the bottom corner in the 93rd minute to secure a point for the Swans as it ended 2-2.

The Baggies – who beat Leeds last time out to boost their promotion aspirations – are next up for the Swans at the Swansea.com Stadium.

And Cullen hopes claiming an important point in the west Midlands can act as a spark at the start of a new calendar year.

“Hopefully that goal can prove to be an important moment for us and we can go into 2024 with some confidence and look to kickstart it with a win on Monday,” he said.

“It was a big boost for the team and we really want to make sure we start 2024 by picking up three points.

“We are back at home in front of our own fans, the support we have had over the festive period has been unbelievable.

“I have said it many times, and I know a lot of the other lads have too, but their support really keeps us going in games, and it certainly did on Friday.

“They never let us down, they are always there for us and we are looking forward to getting back in front of them on New Year’s Day.”
