Loan Watch | September 2026
With 10 players out on loan from academy to the first team, we take a look at how they have fared out on loan so far this season.
Ollie Cooper
Academy graduate Ollie Cooper has made a fine start at League One side Notts County, having joined on a season-long loan in August.
After making his debut in the opening game of the season against Leicester, Cooper got on the scoresheet in their 2-2 draw with Luton Town at Kenilworth Road.
The 26-year-old has gone on to start every league game since, helping Martin Paterson’s side secure points on two occasions by netting equalisers in back-to-back 1-1 draws against Doncaster Rovers and Huddersfield Town.
More heroics followed for the midfielder in the EFL Trophy in September, when he scored a 90th-minute winner against Grimsby Town at Meadow Lane.
Sam Parker
20-year-old Sam Parker made the switch to League One outfit Wycombe Wanderers in the summer transfer window on a season-long loan.
Parker initially linked up with former Swans head coach Michael Duff, who was dismissed in September 2026. The right-back made his Chairboys debut in the EFL Cup in August against Stevenage.
The academy graduate was handed his first League One start a week later in a 1-1 draw at Blackpool. He has since made eight appearances in all competitions.
Morgan Bates
Last season's Under-21s' topscorer Morgan Bates joined Inverness Caledonian Thistle on a season-long loan in June.
Bates made his debut for the Scottish Championship side in the Scottish League Cup in July against East Fife. The striker made three more appearances in the cup competition before they were knocked out in the second round by Hearts in August.
The 19-year-old made his League debut in a 0-0 draw against Dunfermline in August, and so far has made five appearances in the Scottish Championship this campaign.
Last season’s Under-21s top scorer Morgan Bates joined Inverness Caledonian Thistle on a season-long loan in June.
Josh Pescatore
Winger Josh Pescatore joined National League North side Buxton FC on a season-long loan in August.
The 19-year-old had a highly successful campaign for the age-grade side last year, scoring 17 goals and tallying up 18 assists.
Pescatore made his debut just one day after signing in a one-all draw against Southport. He has started four games out of his seven League appearances, getting an assist in Buxton's 5-0 victory over Brackley Town early September.
Blair McKenzie
Blair McKenzie linked up with the League of Ireland Premier Division side Watford midway through their campaign in July, and will remain at the League of Ireland Premier Division side until December 2026.
The 20-year-old defender has only appeared once for the Irish outfit, that coming in a 0-0 draw against Sligo Rovers in August.
Jacob Cook
Midfielder Jacob Cook joined National League South side Hemel Hempstead Town on loan until January 2027.
Cook spent last season on loan with Connah’s Quay in the Cymru Premier, making a considerable impression as they finished second and qualified for European football. Earlier this summer, he signed a new contract with Swansea City until 2029.
He made his National League South debut against Weston-super-Mare in August and has since started three games, making six league appearances in total.
Bobby Wales
Striker Bobby Wales returned to the Scottish Leagues in August, linking up with Dundee FC on loan until the end of the 2026/27 season.
The 21-year-old scored one goal in five appearances for the Swans last term, and spent the second half of last term on loan with Huddersfield Town.
Wales made his debut for the Dark Blues as a substitute in their 2-0 derby victory over Dundee United in August, and he's since made five appearances in the Scottish Premiership.
He also earned a call-up to Scotland Under-21s over the recent international break, scoring the fifth and final goal in the age-grade side's 5-1 victory over Azerbaijan.
Zeidane Inoussa
Zeidane Inoussa joined Ekstraklasa outfit Górnik Zabrze on loan in September.
The Swedish forward linked up with the Polish top-flight club for the remainder of the 2026-27 season as he seeks regular game time after an injury-disrupted first season in Swansea colours.
The 24-year-old has made one appearance so far, coming on as a substitute in a 0-0 draw against Motor Lublin on September 19.
Florian Bianchini
Forward Florian Bianchini joined Clermont Foot 63 on loan, linking up with the Ligue 2 side for the remainder of the 2026-27 season.
The 25-year-old has made 38 appearances since joining the Swans from SC Bastia in 2024.
Bianchini made his debut as a substitute in Clermont’s 1-1 draw against USL Dunkerque in early September. He has started both of their fixtures since, providing an assist for a 93rd-minute equaliser to earn a point against Grenoble on September 18.
Leo Walta joined MLS side Los Angeles FC in September. But the Finnish international is yet make an appearance for the club in the United States.
Dan Watts recently linked up with Exeter City on a season-long loan following his rehabilitation from injury.
