Luke Cundle wants to make sure he rounds off his loan spell at Swansea City on a high with victory over West Brom on Monday.

The midfielder will head back to parent club - and the Baggies local rivals - Wolverhampton Wanderers after the Championship finale, and wants to return to the west Midlands with the bragging rights.

The 21-year-old is pleased with how his time in south Wales has gone, believing the atmosphere in the changing room has helped him to settle into the life of regular Championship football.

“The gaffer and his staff have been good to me on and off the pitch,” he said.

“I think they’ve found a good balance between having a laugh and being serious on the training pitch.

“They’ve got a mix of everything in the changing room. The older lads are great with the younger lads – I think that’s what makes the group so special.

“Everyone feels comfortable and that’s what makes the environment so good.

“It’s a shame we didn’t get to the play-off places which we were probably trying to push for, but we’ve had a good end to the season and we just want to go again on Monday.

“We’re unbeaten in the last eight games and there’s a good spirit within the changing rooms and a hope that we can finish it off on a high.

“I think in some of the games this season we’ve been unlucky. Ability-wise in the changing room, I think that group can push for more next season.

“Obviously for me, it’s West Brom and there’s the rivalry with Wolves, it’ll be good if we can beat them.”
