Head coach Luke Williams says Przemyslaw Placheta and Charles Sagoe Jr are in contention to make their full Swansea City debuts at Hull City after a full week of training with their new teammates.

The two forwards came off the bench against Plymouth Argyle last weekend, while fellow new arrival Ronald caught the eye on his first start.

Williams admitted there was a need to ease Placheta and Sagoe Jr in following their deadline-day arrivals in SA1, but says a full week of training means they are under consideration for starting roles.

“The new guys have been encouraging, we are seeing their level improve,” said the Swans boss.

“There were encouraging signs from all of them last weekend. Ronald stood out and made some really exciting actions. He is doing very well. He wants to be involved in everything.

“Charles Jr and Przemyslaw are ready to start if needed. They have been building their fitness, but those guys are ready.”

Williams also provided an update on the fitness of a number of injury absentees, with Harry Darling having trained with his teammates on Friday, even though the trip to the MKM Stadium will come too soon for him.

“Harry was on the grass today, but we need to see how he reacts to that before we build up his workload,” added Williams.

“We are all on track in terms of what we expected for Josh Key, but he’s not back training at the minute.

“Harrison Ashby is still not right so there’s work to do on that one, Azeem [Abdulai] is in the gym and doing very well and recovering well, while Sam Parker is going to be a longer-term one.

“Liam Walsh is still battling away, he’s not there yet and is not out on the grass. He has had so many setbacks, but his mentality is good.

“Jamal Lowe is making progress but again is not out on the grass.”
