Luke Williams believes Swansea City will get their rewards if they continue to show the enthusiasm and desire to improve as they prepare to face Hull City this afternoon (3pm).

The Swans head to the MKM Stadium following a frustrating defeat against Plymouth last time out, where they had 19 shots on goal and over 70 per cent of the ball.

Head coach Williams has acknowledged his side need to maintain their focus and make more of their opportunities as everyone works to implement his style of play.

But he believes the signs are there that the Swans can be a competitive proposition, provided they work to make strides in those key areas.

“I am pleased with the application,  because the players are training with enthusiasm and desire,” said the Swans boss.

“There is no denying that, they are a really good group and they are ready to improve performances and get the results.

“We have the feeling we want to improve our performance and we believe if we do that we will get the results that come with that.

“I am trying to concentrate on getting us to perform at a high level.

“We have to play consistently well, and I am seeing markers that suggest we can be more dominant for longer periods in games, and we are creating chances to score.

“My objective is firmly focused on trying to improve the performance, if we do that it will give us the platform to build on.

“We knew there would be tough fixtures coming when I joined, we have struggled to get points in that period, we know that.

“But we are optimistic about the future rather than worried about anything else.

“We are focused on producing good games of football, we don’t need to have a crystal ball, it’s about working hard week-in and week-out, improving the margins and going out on the pitch and making a better performance.”
