Marc Guehi | Getting back to winning ways the sole focus

Marc Guehi says Swansea City’s only goal against Hull is to make sure they get back to winning ways.

The midweek draw with QPR means the Swans are four games without a win, but remain firmly in touch with the battle for the play-off places.

The KCOM Stadium clash is the third game in six days for Steve Cooper’s side, and rounding off a challenging week with three points would be an ideal boost for their top-six aspirations.

But defender Guehi insists the only focus is on making sure there are three points in the bag come the close of play on Friday night, rather than any impact the result might have on the league table.

“We must make sure we focus on going to Hull and getting the three points. Hopefully, we can get the win and that will set us up nicely for the challenges ahead,” said the on-loan Chelsea man.

“It’s been a tough week with the games coming thick and fast, but that’s the sole aim for everyone, so let’s see what we can do.”

Guehi has played every minute of the Swans’ last four games– against Stoke, Preston, Derby and Queens Park Rangers.

The 19-year-old has formed a centre-back partnership with Joe Rodon in the three last matches following the Welshman’s return from an ankle tendon injury.

“I feel like I’m growing in confidence. All I can do is keep working hard and trying to learn as much as possible,” said Guehi.

“I’m grateful for every opportunity but I want more chances and good performances.

“It’s good to have competition, it keeps you on your toes. It’s good competition as well because all the boys have been fantastic – especially in the attitudes of those who haven’t quite got the chances.”
