Assistant head coach Matt Gill wants Swansea City to quickly bounce back from defeat at Burnley and continue an overall positive run of form when they host Reading on Tuesday night.

The 4-0 defeat at Turf Moor saw the Swans’ four-match winning run come to an end.

However, the recent form of Russell Martin’s side remains among the strongest in the Championship.

They have averaged two points a game from their last eight fixtures, winning five of those fixtures.

The Swans now prepare to host a Reading side sitting one points and two places above them in the table, with the Royals occupying the last of the play-off spots.

And

“The aim will be to bounce back and in that sense it’s great to have another game so quickly,” he said.

“There is disappointment from Saturday because we felt we did not do ourselves justice and we did not match the performance levels we have been at recently.

“We also have to give Burnley credit, they are a very good team, probably the best we have faced so far this season, but we want to bounce back and get a better result.

“We have been on a good run recently and that was the biggest disappointment at the weekend, that we did not match those levels.

“But we did go there and try to be ourselves, to play the way we want to play and we will always do that whether we are home and away.

“But we need to draw on what we have done in the last few weeks where the results have been really good, performances have been good and we need to take that into tomorrow night.”
