Matt Grimes keen to get back to home comforts

Matt Grimes is looking forward to getting back to the Liberty Stadium as Swansea City eye a strong end to the season.

The Swans host Derby in SA1 on Saturday in what will be their first home game since a 2-1 win over Wigan three weeks previously.

Having put together a five-match unbeaten run at home, skipper Grimes wants the Swans to make sure that sequence continues to extend over the weeks and months ahead.

And, with the final run-in in a congested Championship promotion battle fast approaching, the midfielder knows just how vital form at the Liberty could prove to be in the final analysis.

“It feels like a long time since we played at the Liberty, so we’re all excited to get back out there,” he said.

“We have to move on and keep building.

“We’re in the home run; there are 16 games left. We just need to focus on ourselves and keep doing what we have been all season.

“Hopefully, that can take us right up the table.

“We must make the most of our home games coming up.

“We’re always confident playing at the Liberty. I can’t wait to get out there and I’m sure the rest of the lads feel the same way. “We need to try and take maximum points from those games and set up a decent February.

“Derby are a decent team with players that can hurt you, but it will all be about us.

“We must focus on ourselves and bring to the table what we know we can.

“If we do that, we’re capable of beating anyone on the day.”
